Description

Short

A top-down plague simulation RPG set in a living medieval tapestry. Play the last apothecary in a dying town treating the sick, containing the outbreak, and navigating the politics of factions who'd sooner see you burn.

Long

Explore a dying town in a 2D top-down world on a tapestry during the times of the Black Death. Treat townsfolk for several maladies and plagues. Talk to them and get to know their worries and fears. Accept quests and learn what is really happening beneath sermons, rumors and fear. Keep in mind: time moves forward. Days pass quickly.

The town is divided, and treating folks becomes political. Supporting one faction might close doors with another, or worse, draw the Inquisition's attention to you. A complex reputation system reflects most of your actions and decisions. Your actions also feed the infection simulation, so every playthrough turns out differently, with endings ranging from a city collapse to a town-wide celebration. Or your execution.

Key features

  • A 2D top-down plague simulation in a town on a tapestry during the Black Death, where time keeps moving.
  • Treat patients using gruesome methods like bloodletting, cupping, leeches and other very questionable procedures.
  • Reduce the spread of infection by burning corpses, hunting rats, crashing parties and gatherings. And of course blowing up bridges.
  • Play the sides: a reputation system across three factions, with the Inquisition watching.
  • Grow into a famous healer: learn new treatments and unlock tools and skills through quests and exploration.
  • Every playthrough is different: your actions drive the infection simulation.
  • Multiple endings depending on the faction you support and how you perform.
  • A unique art style inspired by the Apocalypse Tapestry (Tenture de l'Apocalypse).

The factions

  • Penitents: the leading clerical faction in the town. They believe suffering is the only path to God.
  • Communals: the common folk. Crafters, traders, peasants and those who keep the town running and afloat.
  • The Caravan: a once wealthy caravan that lost its way from the Silk Road and is now trying to outrun death.

The art style

A unique and special style inspired by the breathtaking Apocalypse Tapestry (Tenture de l'Apocalypse). Woven stillness from the style of this medieval "comic" is brought to life and transformed into a historically highly inaccurate adventure.
